011: Our Review of Jurassic World

The Powers brothers tackle the wildly popular movie, Jurassic World, and talk about how much they loved it. We go into a lot of detail about various topics related to the movie and then analyze the film as a story. Warning: The latter part of this episode is very spoilery. We talk about the way the movie treated evolutionary theory, the amount of violence in the film and some parental suggestions, the greatness of the "monster movie" plot the movie followed, and the various human stories that may or may not have subtracted from the other plot elements. Feel free to leave comments below on what your favorite (or least favorite) parts of the movie were!

Several other people have done great reviews on the movie, such as Answers in Genesis and Howard Tayler.

Also, we talked about the fantastic monster movie Godzilla, which is what Jurassic World is second to in our opinion in term of monster movies.

010: You’ve Got Questions, We’ve Got Answers

This week on the show: The Powers brothers answer all of your questions, go on random tangents that have nothing to do with your questions, and have a blast while doing both. We talk about everything from what our favorite places to read are to advice for a mother of teenage boys. Welcome back to the podcast--we've missed it, and we're excited for you to listen in to another weird conversation from teenage Christian boys talking about art.

The Verse We Thought Was In Romans: It's actually in 1st Timothy, but that's okay. It's still a great verse, and you should look at it.

My Shameless Plug: Check out Caleb's website! He posts about cool things every day over there.

009: King David, Musician

It's just Caleb today, because of a crazy week and a last-minute recording session, but that won't stop an episode of the Christian Artist! Caleb talks about King David and the way he wrote music, and shares some parallels from his own life. He also listens and talks about a song about David performed by Chris Tomlin.

We apologize for the popping sound you're undoubtedly going to hear throughout this episode--Caleb had a momentary lapse of judgement and recorded the entire episode without a pop filter. Facepalm. Facepalm, indeed.

The Story: An abridged, chronological Bible that reads like a novel. Caleb hasn't read it himself, but has heard a lot of good things about it. Check it out!

Music Inspired By The Story: A fantastic album filled with songs performed by many different Christian artists. Caleb loves it. Definitely give it a listen.
