015: Songs About Transitions

August 20, 2015

We are back after our long hiatus, fully recovered from the busyness of the last month and ready to record more episodes! Today we have a guest back on the show after a long crop of episodes with just the Powers brothers--Hannah Laatsch is back, just in time for us to send her off to college. Today we talk about music once again, another song review episode, this time dealing with songs about transitions.

The first song we review, Caleb's pick, is "Hourglass" by Sleeping At Last, which is about the transition you make when someone you love passes on. How do you deal with death? How is anything ever the same?

Connor's song is Rise Against's "This Is Letting Go", which talks about the transition of letting go of a relationship. The difference between trying to solve something and just being okay with what has transpired.

Last, but certainly not least, is Hannah's song "Hopeless Wanderer" by Mumford & Sons. Hopeless Wanderer is about someone who leaves home and tries to discover who they are, which is one of the biggest transitions we all have to make.
